RSD has driven bus routes and road conditions are still undesirable for RSD buses to safely transport students.
In order to ensure the safety of RSD families and staff, all RSD schools will be closed tomorrow, January 18, 2024 due to road conditions.
Make Up day information will be announced at a later time.

Storms that have earned Flourishing Friday this week can bring a stuffed animal to school Friday, January 19th!

RIS Quiz Bowl team participated in the Arch Ford Quiz Bowl tournament Wednesday. Students did a great job representing RIS!



Congratulations to Rosa for being selected as Officer Harris' back-up for the month of January!! She will learn how to keep RIS safe!

RIS students will be attending Artregeous at The Center for the Arts January 11th from 12:30-2:30!


Welcome back to school, Storms!! We are excited to see you Monday, January 8 and get the second semester started!


Our RIS staff wish you and your family the best Christmas break! School will be out from Dec. 25-January 5. First day back is Monday, January 8!


One hundred twenty five students met a reading challenge this first semester at RIS! To celebrate their accomplishments they went to Strikers Bowling Alley to learn to bowl!
This trip was made possible by the RIS SOAR Grant! Thank you all for helping to support our reading culture at RIS!











In August, Mrs. Honghiran gave her students a reading challenge. There were 20 books from a variety of genres she encouraged them to read. By December, 125 students met that challenge. They celebrated with a trip to Strikers Bowling Alley! RIS students do Read Up A Storm! The trip was made possible by the RIS SOAR Grant.








RIS wants to thank our Storm families who came to our Family Night! We had so much fun. We plan to have another family night in the spring! A special thank you to our mystery readers for the Masked Reader, Officer Harris, Pat Young (Owner of Dog Ear Books) and James Leavell. This event was brought to you by the RIS SOAR Grant written by Mrs. Honghiran and Mrs. Binz.

The RIS Spelling Bee is December 20th from 9:00-10:30 at the Center for the Arts on the RHS campus. All students will be in attendance during that time. We wish our contestants the best!
