Cyclone Cross Country shines at Little Rock and Bentonville
Junior Carson Walker had a huge PR at the Sugar Creek Showdown in Bentonville on Saturday clocking 15:54. Senior Jaxon Smith also ran an impressive 16:36
The rest of the teams competed in The Little Rock Classic. Even though they were short 3 of their top 4 runners the Cyclones still managed to finish 3rd out of 21 teams. Junior Jeremy Amaya PR’d in 17:53 and medaled in 12th. Sophomore Oliver Castro made a big jump with a 17:58 medaling and finished 14th. Sophomore Cooper Roger medaled in 18th and they ALL PR’d. Ezra Witter and Nick Holman rounded out the top 5.
The Lady Cyclones also finished 3rd. After losing 10 of 13 from the roster last year this group has really been a surprise. Sophomore Grace Ruple continues to lead, finishing an impressive sixth. Senior Anna DeCosta, new to the sport this year finished 13th. Steady Junior Alyvia Davis also medaled. Hard working Sophomores Ashlyn Latus and Quinn Schaefer rounded out the scoring.
The Junior Boys finished 2nd. Impressive freshmen Issac Paul and Asher Trigg went 2-3 and 8th grader Austin Lindsey 6th!!. Daniel Romero and Hank Walker rounded out the scoring. The Junior Girls finished 5th. *th grades Shaleigh Jackson and Caroline Payne ran really well. Jackson medaled.
All four teams return to action Saturday when they host The Cyclone Invitational at ATU starting at 8:30AM
