Mr. Craig's History Class

Mr. Craig’s History classes studied the Industrial Revolution and the Railway Systems in America. To further increases knowledge and understanding of how the railway impacted America, SLC will be traveling to Van Buren in March to ride on a 1920s train. The students will be seated in 1920s vintage coach cars which were, one time in history, used as passenger commuter cars. These cars have Velvet Flip Seats so that parties of four can face each other when desired. The students will ride on one of three vintage coach cars; The Mountain View, Golden Age, or Biloxi Blue. The Biloxi Blue was named after the movie titled Biloxi Blue which was filmed at Fort Chaffee in Fort Smith, Arkansas. During this excursion, the train conductors will teach the history of the trains and their impact on transportation in America. We will share pictures and more information after the trip has concluded.
